MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from October 8, 2007, from 202 Sellers were 1114 head
including: 19 Bulls, 141 Cows, 32 Calves, 39 Longhorns, 256 Stocker Heifers, 338 Stocker
Bulls/Steers, 95 Feeder Heifers, 194 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average price = $535. Last week = $ 519. A year ago = $ 491. Buyers said the market was too high, most
sellers said too low. Selection
criteria pretty narrow with only #1 calves and weaned conditioned calves
selling higher than last week. Need
rain on wheat fields and less fluctuation in weather. Young bred cows selling well.
Pairs not tested. Packers $ .75
