MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from June 18, 2007, from 64 Sellers were 471 head
including: 11 Bulls, 37 Cows, 10 Calves,
75 Stocker Heifers, 73 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 63 Feeder Heifers, 202 Feeder
Bulls/Steers. Average price = $ 620. Last week = $ 523. A year ago = $ 518. Many of our producers and buyers were
dealing with high waters so consignments were less than normal especially for
cows and bulls, which made up only 10% of consignments as compared to the
typical 20 – 25%. Light calves trended
cheaper on limited selections. Good
demand for preconditioned feeders with opportunity to buy truckloads. Bidding active. Surprising number of 6 and 7 weight bulls with $7/cwt average
discount on the 7 weights and $6/cwt discount on high prices for the 6
weights. In observation of
