MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET

from May 21, 2007, from 187 sellers were 1128
head including: 29 Bulls, 218 Cows, 65 Calves,
199 Stocker Heifers, 263 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 187 Feeder Heifers, 177 Feeder
Bulls/Steers. Average prices = $
582. Last week = $ 552. A year ago = $ 500. Quality was inconsistent and selection
criteria narrowed. We saw target prices
reduced on several categories of calves and yearlings but overall the market
yielded prices $2 - $3 higher on calves. Quality uneven. Bred cows
were steady on limited offering, while pairs were $60 - $75 higher. Packer prices steady. WE WILL HAVE A SALE MONDAY, MAY 28,
