MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from May 14, 2007, from 145 Sellers were 833 head
including: 19 Bulls, 156 Cows, 66 Calves, 162 Stocker Heifers, 193 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 91
Feeder Heifers, 146 Feeder Bulls/Steers.
Average price = $ 553. Last
week = $ 577. A year ago
= $ 539. Inconsistent quality on light
calves caused some bouncing around on prices but the trend was lower. 4 – 6 weights $2 - $3 higher with 7 – 8
weights $3 - $4 higher. Packer prices
steady. Bred cows and pairs $60 - $70
higher on better selection than we have seen recently. Early consignments for next week include
82 yearling heifers weighing 665 – 725#. 15% with ¼ ear remainder with 1/8 or
less. On wheat since October—Blacks and
