MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments
from April 23, 2007, from 199 sellers were 1130
head including: 32 Bulls, 250 Cows, 63 Calves, 221 Stocker Heifers,
284 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 123 Feeder Heifers, 157 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average prices = $ 579. Last week = $ 594. A year ago = $ 538. Another week of downward direction on the
futures and fat market caught up with us as the market on calves and feeders
was $3 to $5 lower. Packer prices on
lean cattle was steady and $2 cheaper on big fleshy cows. Most bred cows were short bred and most
pairs with 150 – 200# calves. Prices
steady.
