MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET

from April 9, 2007, from 112 sellers were 656
head including: 24 Bulls, 120 Cows, 35 Calves, 99 Stocker Heifers,
196 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 79 Feeder Heifers, 103 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average prices = $ 562. Last week = $ 546. A year ago = $ 554. Prices on #1 and #2 stocker steers and
heifers $1 - $2/cwt higher with feeders $2 - $4/cwt higher. 20% 3 – 6 weights were longhorns that drove
the averages down. Packer cows $2.35
higher. Bred cows $25 - $30
higher. Demand exceeds supply as less
numbers coming to town because of high creeks and muddy fields.
