MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from March 10, 2008, from 106 Sellers were 525 head
including: 26 Bulls, 129 Cows, 28 Calves, 35 Longhorns, 124 Stocker Heifers, 95 Stocker
Bulls/Steers, 30 Feeder Heifers, 58 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average
price = $ 482. Last
week = $ 524. A year ago
= $ 541. Snow, rain and ice may not
stop the postman but any one of them
will limit the nmber of cattle coming to town.
The market wanted to be better but inconsistent quality and low
inventory put a damper on the market. 3
– 4 weight calves $2 - $3 higher.
Supply definitely less than demand.
