MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET

from February 22, 2010, from 191 Sellers were
1086 head including: 31 Bulls, 231 Cows, 47 Calves, 104 Longhorns, 187 Stocker Heifers, 224 Stocker
Bulls/Steers, 139 Feeder Heifers, 123 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average
price = $ 477. Last
sale = $ 461. A year ago
= $ 429. In spite of the rain and mud
we ended up with a decent number of cattle with prices significantly higher
than the previous sale. 4 and 5 weight
calves were $6 -$8/cwt higher while 7 – 8 weights were $4 - $5 higher. 6 weight cattle were steady to $2
lower. Packer prices $2 - $5 higher
driving bred cows and pairs $45 - $55 higher.
