MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from February 18, 2008, from 96 Sellers were 506 head
including: 6 Bulls, 110 Cows, 28 Calves, 28 Longhorns, 128 Stocker Heifers, 136 Stocker
Bulls/Steers, 46 Feeder Heifers, 24 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average
price = $ 492. Last
week = $ 520. A year ago
= $ 522. The market on 2 – 3 weight
calves jumped up $2 - $4, as did the 7 – 8 weight yearlings. Prices steady on other calves with limited
supply. Overall quality off from last
week. Packer prices $3 - $4
higher. Pairs and bred cows $50 - $100 higher. Early consignments for next week include complete dispersal of
60 – 70 cow herd. 5 – 7 year old Angus
and Angus X cows. 40 pairs now, others
longbred. Consignments being
accepted for our 16th annual “Bringing in the Green” Special
Replacement Sale scheduled for April 12, 2008.
