MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments
from January 18, 2010, from 270 Sellers were
1816 head including: 15 Bulls, 380 Cows, 75 Calves, 73 Longhorns, 464 Stocker Heifers, 542 Stocker
Bulls/Steers, 107 Feeder Heifers, 160 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average
price = $ 470. Last
sale = $ 464. A year ago
= $ 443. Calf and yearling market was
just as strong as last week on #1 kind of cattle, while plainer cattle seemed
to drag some of the average prices down a little. Buyers seem to be more active on larger groups of weaned cattle
that have been coming through the last couple of weeks. Bred cows and pairs $35 - $50 higher with
nice set of long bred heifers @ $920. Packer
prices $1.00 - $1.50 higher.
